“When you raise questions asking for better for your country, it’s not anti national”- Taapsee Pannu shares the poem Samwaad
September 15 is marked as International Day of Democracy. India is the largest democracy in the world. On this occasion, actress Taapsee Pannu has lent her voice to a few animated videos that are a commentary on the prevailing situation of the country. It raised questions on where the country is headed amid religion and caste divide and the lack of a constructive dialogue.
Samwaad highlights the importance of freedom of speech and raising important questions. Sharing the video, Taapsee Pannu wrote, "Because when you raise questions asking for better for your country it’s not anti national it’s coz you love your country and countrymen beyond all fears and feel it’s potential is still untapped. To the Largest Democracy of the world, let’s make sure we preserve our ‘rights’ and perform the ‘duties’". The video shows the stark difference of an ideal world and the reality as we know it.
The actress also narrated the poem in Punjabi. Taapsee worked on the videos in collaboration with Amruta Subhash and Anindita Bose.
